James Marshall, born 7 May 1825, Campsie

James, a carter, married Isabella Marshall  daughter of Thomas Marshall and Ann Love on 14 Jul 1854 in New Kilpatrick, Dumbartonshire. Isabella was born on 13 Apr 1830 in Baldernock, Stirlingshire.

James and Isabella had the following known children:

James died on 9 Nov 1889 in 22 Strathblane Road, Milngavie, New Kilpatrick, Dumbartonshire. James' death certificate gives an age of 56 when it should be 65 and his parents as William Marshall, a carter, which is correct, and Annie Marshall MS Love which is incorrect. This was his wife's mother's details.  However the certificate does name him as a carter married to Isabella Marshall and I am certain this is his death.

Isabella died on 24 Jan 1910 in 2 Victoria Place, Milngavie, New Kilpatrick, Dumbartonshire. Isabella's death certificate gives an age of 74 when it should be 79 and her parents as Annie Marshall MS Love which is correct and William Marshall, a coal miner, which is incorrect as far as the name goes as her father was Thomas Marshall, but gets the occupation correct as he was a coal miner. William Marshall was her husband's father's name. However the certificate does name her as the widow of James Marshall., a contractor's carter and I am certain this is her death.

Mary Marshall, born 4 October 1827, East Kilpatrick

Mary married David Raeside on 30 Jun 1848 in Dunlop, Ayrshire. David was born about 1817 in Dunlop, Ayrshire.
