Mabel Marshall Dalglish Allison

Mabel Marshall Dalglish Allison attended Greenhill School whilst growing up at Craighead farm. On 30th May 1930 Mabel sailed to Canada on the Anchor-Donaldson steamship "Letitia" from Glasgow, bound for Quebec & Montreal. Aged 20 and with her profession described as "Domestic" she went third class. Her address at the time was given as Coop Buildings, Salsburgh. Whilst working in a nursing home in St. Catharines, Ontario, Mabel met Russell Dean High, a Canadian born electrical draftsman. She returned home briefly in 1933 presumably for a final visit to her relatives in and around Salsburgh (her address was given as 111 Main Street Salburgh) before settling down with Russell in Canada. She returned to Canada on the 9th June 1933 again from Glasgow on the same steamship "Letitia". Shortly after her return, on 30 Sep 1933, Mabel married Russell Dean High.

Mabel and Russell had the following children:

Russell Dean High died in 1973 in Canada. Mabel Marshall Dalglish Allison died in Sep 2001 in Canada.
