Further Allison - Marshall Connections

It  is of  interest to  note  that  this eldest  sister of  Mary Marshall, Janet Marshall, also married  an Allison. She also moved across the  Clyde, and, whilst  living at Laighpark,  Paisley, and working as a  dairymaid, she married a John  Allison, a ploughman, on  2nd June  1865, at  Mid-Parish,  Paisley.  He was  the son  of William Allison,  also a ploughman,  and Christina McAusland,  who were married on  15th December 1836 in Erskine  Parish. Their son, the afore-mentioned John,  was baptised on 16th May  1841, also in Erskine  Parish. At  the time of his marriage John Allison was working as a ploughman at Easter Walkinshaw Farm, mid-way between Paisley and Renfrew.

His father, William Allison, was baptised on 18th September 1803, in Houston, Renfrewshire, the son of a John Allison and Janet Holm.

It is interesting to speculate whether this family of Allison were related to either or both of the families of Mary Marshall's future in-laws, William Allison and Christina Allison. (SEE BELOW).

Christina McAusland was the daughter John McAusland and Isobel Freedland, and was baptised on 1st. November 1809 in Dumbarton parish.
