James Allison was born on 9 June 1782 as recorded in the parish register of Mearns, Renfrewshire.

James married Margaret Ritchie, the daughter of James Ritchie and Jean Pollok about 1810. Margaret was born about 1790 in Mearns, Renfrewshire. Margaret Allison, nee Ritchie, died on 29 October 1857 at Malletsheugh Farm, Mearns, Renfrewshire. James Allison died on 9 January 1865 at Malletsheugh Farm, Mearns, Renfrewshire. Robert Allison was born on 5 June 1785 as recorded in the parish register of Mearns, Renfrewshire.

Nothing more known.

Agnes Allison was born\baptised on 11 March 1787 as recorded in the parish register of Mearns, Renfrewshire.

It is assumed she died infancy as a second Agnes was recorded as born\baptised to Robert and Agnes 10 years later.

Janet Allison was born\baptised 6 December 1789 as recorded in the parish register of Mearns, Renfrewshire.

Janet Allison married John Clark, a Master bleacher, probably around 1810 in Mearns, Renfrewshie. John Clark was born\baptised on 10 February 1782 as recorded in the parish register of Mearns, Renfrewshire. John and Janet had the following known children:

For census of 1841 Janet and John were recorded at Letham Farm near Waterfoot in the parish of Mearns close to its border with the parish of East Kilbride. John was identified as a farmer and all nine of their children were included in the household. The Agnes Thomson, aged 80 also listed in the household is assumed to be John Clark's mother, identified with her maiden name.

Only thei eldest son Robert and second eldest daughter were included in their household, along with two female servants, Flora McLean aged 21 born on the isle of Tiree, Argyll, and Christina McCormick aged 17 born in Knapdale, Argyll.

There is also a dairymaid, Agnes Mcole aged 21 born on the isle of Lismore, Argyll.

Janet Clark, nee Allison, died aged 79 on 12 May 1869 in Letham Farm, Mearns, Renfrewshire. She was recorded on her death certificate as married to John Clark, a farmer, and the daughter of Robert Allison, a Farmer, and Agnes Allison, maiden surname Gilmour, both identified as deceased. The informant was Robert Clark, her son. An intimation of her death was carried in the Paisley Herald and Renfrewshire Advertiser of 15th May 1869.

For census of 1871 the widowed John was again resident at Letham Farm, although it was now identified as 100 acres with the additional information that it was all arable. His eldest son is once again listed in his household, along with his widowed daughter Agnes McConnell and her son, his grandson, John McConnell. Agnes had married John McConnell, a master Bleacher in 1854, but he had sadly died in 1860. Also included in the household were three farm servants, William Clark aged 26 born in Molliesburn, Stirlingshire and Mary McLean aged 21 and Flora McLean aged 20 both born on the isle of Tiree, Argyll.

For census of 1841 at Agnes and Robert were resident at Burnhouse farm just to the east of Mearns village. Included in the household were all nine of their children and one female servant, Janet Archibald aged 20.

For census of 1851 the family sere still resident at Burnhouse farm, which was described as 52 acres. There were again four children listed with them, although Agnes had moved out and the youngest daughter, Elizabeth had moved in. The farm was identified as being 80 acres with Robert employing the one fram labourer, presumably the David Brown aged 17 and born in Lanarkshire, included in the household.
