From the details on this stone this lair in Newtown Green Cemetery  it would seem to have been used by Matthew Adam up to the death of his daughter Jane in 1856.  Although in the Ayrshire Monumental Inscriptions transcriptions the date and age of death of Jane is only partially legible, it is known from the second stone in Holmston Road Cemetry. (Bits in red are wrong in transcription)  As this stone also commerates Matthew's parents it is possible that they may well lie in this cemetery if not in this lair. It would be interesting to see if their is a record of burials around the 1840's available.
