Details of the family of Harkles Pritchard and Minnie Chester Dyer (daughter of Elisheba Ann Dyer and T. Morris Chester).

For the census of 1871 Minnie, recorded as Marie was living with her mother and grandparents recorded as a "nurse child". Note: It would seem that although named Minnie on her birth certificate, she was initially recorded as Marie, Maria or and latterly as Morrie.

For the census of 1881 she was still living with grandparents recorded as Maria and as a "visitor". Her mother had married Fitzroy Silverthorn in 1875 and was living with Fitzroy and her young family at Pontywain, Risca, Monmouthshire. .

Minnie married Harkless Pritchard in 07 Jul 1889 Maindee, in the church of St John The Evangelist (Newport M. Vol 11a Page 261). Minnie was recorded as Morrie Chester Dyer.
Harkless is I suspect actually Hercules as this is what I assume is the record of his birth is indexed as (Hercules Prichard Ref: Monmouth Vol 11a Page 45). (His death record also records him as Hercules) He was almost certainly was the son of John and Susannah Pritchard born 27th June 1858 in Llandenny , Monmouthshire, Wales.
Minnie Chester and Hercules Pritchard had the following known children -
For the census of 1891 Minne and Hercules were recorded as Harkles and Morrie living in Christchurch, Monmouthshire with their first child William. This census was constructed from the census index, hence no exact address or occupation for Harkless.

For the census of 1901 Hercules and Minnie, again recorded as Harkles and Morrie, were living at 119 Discovery Road, with their four children - William, Gwendoline, Adelina, and Arthur J. with Hercules working as a carter in a Lime Works.

Hercules was recorded as a General Labourer and the family has grown with the addition of the two children Thomas Henry and Daniel Samuel..

Hercules Pritchard died aged 68 in Apr-Jul 1926 in Newport, Monmouthshire (Ref: Newport, M. Vol 11a Ref 145.). I believe Minnie lived on for a further 28 years and died, aged 83, in Newport in Apr-Jun 1954. (Ref; Vol 8c Page 221)
